Farm4Profit Takes on Denver: A Recap of Our Commodity Classic Experience
The Farm4Profit podcast hit the road once again, this time heading west to Denver, Colorado, for the Commodity Classic farm trade show. This event brought together some of the biggest names in agriculture, and we were excited to be a part of it. From setting up our podcast studios to hosting an awards ceremony and cranking out top-tier content, it was a week filled with great conversations, new connections, and a few unexpected twists.
Getting Set Up in Denver
We arrived in Denver a day early to ensure everything was in place before the show kicked off. Our first task was retrieving our podcasting equipment, which had been shipped out on a semi. Once we had everything in hand, we set up not one, but two separate recording locations. One was in collaboration with our partners at John Deere, and the other with our friends at AgXplore. Having these dual setups allowed us to capture a wide range of conversations throughout the event.
Our team also made the most of our time in Denver by staying together in a penthouse rental. This created an incredible atmosphere for team bonding and provided a great space to relax and connect with friends and listeners after long days at the trade show.
Interviews, Awards, and More
The first day of the Commodity Classic was packed with interviews, and we were honored to cap off the night by hosting an awards ceremony for the winners of the National Corn Growers Association High Yield Contest. The event featured custom appetizers, signature drinks, and well-deserved awards, making for a fantastic evening celebrating some of the top-performing farmers in the country.Day two was another whirlwind, with a full schedule of interviews and content creation for our social media platforms. We also had the opportunity to share a great meal with listeners and fans, reinforcing the strong community that Farm4Profit has built over the years.Final Day
Grind and a Detour Home
The last day of the trade show was our most productive yet. We wrapped up a total of nine podcast interviews and recorded six short segments to share with our audience. The energy was high, and the conversations were insightful, leaving us with plenty of great content to bring back home.Once the event concluded, we packed up our equipment, loaded it back onto the semi, and headed to the airport. However, our journey home didn’t go quite as planned. Instead of flying straight back to Des Moines, our flight was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City. But in true Farm4Profit fashion, we didn’t let a little detour slow us down. We rented a vehicle and drove the rest of the way home, adding one last adventure to an already unforgettable trip.Key
Takeaways from the Show
A few things stood out to us at this year’s Commodity Classic:
Podcasting is booming in ag media. When we first started recording live at events, Farm4Profit was one of the only podcasts doing so. This year, we saw over a dozen different live podcast setups, proving that this medium is growing in importance within the industry.
John Deere’s precision upgrade kits are a game-changer. Instead of purchasing brand-new machines, farmers can now upgrade their existing equipment with the latest technology, improving efficiency and productivity at a fraction of the cost.
Farmers are still investing in the future. Despite tighter commodity prices, we continue to see farmers committed to making their operations more efficient and sustainable. They aren’t just getting by—they’re finding ways to propel their farms forward.
Looking Ahead
Our trip to Denver was a huge success, and we’re already looking forward to our next big event. The connections we made, the stories we captured, and the fun we had all reinforced why we do what we do. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined us for an interview, or tuned in to the podcast.
Until next time—keep farming for profit, because if you aren’t farming for profit, you won’t be farming for long!"
